Dear Colleagues & Friends

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to attend the 5th PAN ARAB Congress on Osteoporosis and related Bone Diseases, to be held from April 28 -30, 2010 in Damascus, Syria, under the Patronage of H.E. Mrs. Asma al- Assad The First Lady of Syria, and in cooperation with the International Osteoporosis Foundation.

Osteoporosis is recognized as a major health problem, and is among the most disabling conditions of older adults and the elderly. It affects both men and women and represents an immense human, social and economic burden.
Osteoporosis is  a global problem but, according to the last studies, Asia is the region where the increase in osteoporosis fractures will be the greatest.

 

The Congress in Damascus will include, beside the rich scientific program , meet- the -expert sessions, exciting  public sessions, and Satellite symposia organized by the pharmaceutical industry. It will give you the opportunity to hear and interact with the world’s experts and to view the latest data on all aspects of basic and clinical osteoporosis research,  including the new developments in bone cell biology, epidemiology,  diagnosis , prevention and treatment.

Participants will include Internists, Rheumatologists, Endocrinologists, Gynecologists, Orthopedic surgeons, Radiologists, Physiotherapists, Nurses, public health personnel, Epidemiologists, Pharmacists, pharmaceutical industry representatives and interested public.

Damascus is the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. It has occupied a position of importance in the fields of science, culture, politics, art, commerce and industry from the earliest times.
